This little book is one you will read and slowly digest and re-read and digest some more. It’s 10 chapters are filled with timely and powerful messages on the subject of connecting to the stillness within.
How We Choose To Be Happy by Rick Foster and Greg Hicks
This insightful and inspiring book is based on a three-year research study of extremely happy people. It shows us that even though you may have a “set point” for your level of happiness, you can change it. Rick and Greg show you how. They have even developed what they call their “model of nine choices” as a formula for change. It’s not about the money! You can learn to be happy regardless of your life circumstance, personality or financial situation.

Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior by David Hawkins, PhD
Three things got my attention in this very interesting book (1) David suggests that just reading it will raise the average reader’s baseline level of consciousness by 35 points; (2) he actually explains the levels of human consciousness in a map he has developed; (3) he brings the issue of power vs. force into our ordinary everyday lives and explains the differences between the two.
Men, Women & the Power of Empathy by A. R. Maslow, Ph.D.
Practical strategies in each chapter to teach men and women how to develop empathy and create the closeness they desire in their relationships. A few male clients have commented, “Reading the introduction was worth the price of the book.”

A user-friendly guide that clients say actually works to dissolve the fear and trauma that perpetuate chronic pain.  It is a holistic approach to restoring the mind/body connection.  Key points include focus on breathing techniques and shifting the pain signals in the brain.  I have several clients with severe chronic pain who are finding relief using this book.

This author has been studying, teaching and writing about compulsive eating for over thirty years. In this book she goes beyond the food and feelings aspect of eating to the deeper layers of spirit and soul, looking at what keeps us from going to this deep place…and how to get there.
